 Alone    -  Avril Lavigne

Uh uh, Uh uh oh
Uh uh, Uh uh oh

Hey man
Tell me what were you thinking?
What the hell were you saying?
Oh come on now
Stop and think about it
Hey now
Maybe you should just listen
Maybe you should stop talking for a second
Shut up
Listen to me

You're so obvious
You're so oblivious ( sem noção)
And now you wonder why you're the one alone
So don't apologize
And you don't even realize you screwed it up ( você estragou tudo) this time
Now you're the one alone

Uh uh, Uh uh oh
Uh uh, Uh uh oh

Hey bro
I'm just trying to let you know
You really think that you're special
Oh come on now
I've seen so much better ( tenho visto coisa melhor)
Hey there
Did you actually think that I cared?
Don't know if you want to go there
Oh come on now
Keep on, keep on dreaming

You're so obvious
You're so oblivious
And now you wonder why you're the one alone
So don't apologize
And you don't even realize you screwed it up this time
Now you're the one alone

If you, want to, be my-y-y-y
You know, You can't, play games
And you know what I mean

I'm sorry
but you don't get my my-y-y-y-y ( lamento mas você não me conquistou)
I'm gone, you're still dreaming about me
Over and over and over and over again

You're so obvious
You're so oblivious
And now you wonder why you're the one alone (you're the one alone)
So don't apologize
And you don't even realize you screwed it up this time
Now you're the one alone (alone alone alone)

You're so obvious (obvious)
You're so oblivious (oblivious)
And now you wonder why you're the one alone (you're the one alone)
So don't apologize (apologize)
And you don't even realize you screwed it up this time
Now you're the one alone

Uh uh, Uh uh oh
Uh uh, Uh uh oh
Uh uh, Uh uh oh
Uh uh, Uh uh oh

Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?  - Bryan Adams

To really love a woman,
To understand her,
You've got to know her deep inside ... ( profundamente)
Hear every thought, (pensamento)
See every dream,
And give her wings (asas) when she wants to fly.
Then when you find yourself lying helpless( repousando desamparado) in her arms ...
You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman,
You tell her that she's really wanted.
When you love a woman,
You tell her that she's the one.
She needs somebody, to tell her that it's gonna last forever. (durar pra sempre)
So tell me have you ever really ... really, really ever loved a woman?

To really love a woman,
Let her hold you, (te agarrar,te abraçar)
Till you know how she needs to be touched. (ser tocada)
You've got to breathe her( Vc tem que respira-la), really taste her( verdadeiramente saborea-la)
Till you can feel her in your blood.
And when you can see your unborn children( filhos que ainda não nasceram) in her eyes ...
You know you really love a woman.

When you love a woman,
You tell her that she's really wanted.
When you love a woman,
You tell her that she's the one.
She needs somebody, to tell her that you´ll always be together.
So tell me have you ever really ... really, really ever loved a woman?

You've got to give her some faith, (dá-lhe alguma confiança)
Hold her tight( abraça forte, apertado), a little tenderness. (com um pouco de ternura)
You've got to treat her right.
She will be there for you taking good care of you ...
You really gotta love your woman.

And when you find yourself lying helpless in her arms,
You know you really love a woman.

When you love a woman,
You tell her that she's really wanted.
When you love a woman,
You tell her that she's the one.
She needs somebody, to tell her that it's gonna last forever.
So tell me have you ever really ... really, really ever loved a woman?
So tell me have you ever really ... really, really ever loved a woman?

So tell me have you ever really ... really, really ever loved a woman?

Lesson of the week - April 9th - Elvis Presley

1. Well Daniele and Giovana.  In this lesson we will learn many things about  one of America’s most popular singers, Elvis Presley.

2. That song, “Hound Dog” was one of Elvis Presley’s most popular records.  It sold five million copies in nineteen fifty-six.  Music industry experts say more than one thousand million of Elvis’s recordings have sold throughout the world.  He was a success in many different kinds of music -- popular, country, religious, and rhythm and blues.

3. Elvis Presley won many awards from nations all over the world, yet he did not record in any language other than English.  He never performed outside the United States, except for three shows in Canada.  Yet, his recordings and films have been, and are still, enjoyed by people all over the world.

4. Elvis Aaron Presley was born in the southern town of Tupelo, Mississippi on January eighth, nineteen thirty-five.  His family was extremely poor.  During his childhood, he sang in church with his parents

5. He also listened to music that influenced his later singing, including country, rhythm and blues, and religious music.  Elvis and his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee when he was thirteen.

6. After high school, he had several jobs, including driving a truck.  In nineteen fifty-three, he made his first recording of this song, “My Happiness”:

7. Elvis Presley recorded the song at the Memphis Recording Service.  The story is that he paid four dollars to make a recording for his mother.  A woman who worked at the public recording studio had another job with a local independent record company called Sun Records.  She made a second recording of Elvis’s songs because she thought the owner of Sun Records should hear him sing.

8. The owner of Sun Records, Sam Phillips, had been looking for a white performer who could sing black rhythm and blues.  He suggested Elvis work with a guitar player and a bass player.  Several months later Mister Phillips agreed to have the group make a record.  It was released on July nineteenth, nineteen fifty-four.  One of the songs was “That’s All Right”:

9. The record sold well in Memphis, and was played a lot on local radio stations.  To let others hear Elvis, Sam Phillips organized a series of performances at country fairs in the area.

10. One of the people who heard Elvis perform at these shows was Colonel Tom Parker.  Elvis signed an agreement that Colonel Parker would organize his appearances.

11. One of Elvis’ first new recordings became a huge hit, and led to his many appearances on television.  It was “Heartbreak Hotel”:

12. By the middle of the nineteen fifties, Elvis Presley was known around the world as the young man who moved his hips in a sexual way as he sang rock and roll music.  Many adults said he and his music were bad influences on young people.  Young women loved him.  Huge crowds attended his performances.

13. He made his first movie in nineteen fifty-six.  It was  “Love Me Tender.” The title song was a big hit.

Lesson of the week - April 2nd - Fluency

" Let's study that sentence more carefully. ( The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese )

*** " The early bird gets the worm " is a famous saying. " The early bird " is a person not a bird who wakes up early. " Worm" of course just bird likes but if you are an early - bird, you will get more success or more money or more of the good things in life. So, if you're not an early-bird , you can't get your worms.

*** The second half is a little joke " The second mouse gets the cheese. " Imagine a mouse getting cheese out of the trap ...when it pulls it out ..."snap!!" ...the mouse is gone. It's the second mouse ...it coming along and takes the cheese!

.........................................................

*** Practice does not make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect! Remember that!

..........................................................

*** Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

1- to put something off = to wait to do something

...........................................................

*** " If you want to bake a cake , you have to break a few eggs "

1- bake a cake = it is just an idea. It means anything good that we want to do.
2- bake eggs = it means that you have to do something unpleasant.

*** So this sentence means that if you want to get success you must accept some problems too.

.............................................................

*** Moses supposes his toeses are roses
*** But Moses supposes erroneously
*** Nobody's toeses are roses...we knowses
*** As Moses supposes his toeses to be.

1- to suppose = to think
2- toeses = this word doesn't exist. The author used it just because it combines with supposes. The real word is "toes"
3- erroneously = mistakenly
4- knowses - this is another wrong word created just to sound like supposes. The correct word is 'knows'

............................................................

Joke : Three men were in a bar drinking beer. Two of the men were talking about the control they have over their wives while the third man remained silent. After a while , the first two men turned to the third man and asked: " What about you? What kind of control do you have over your wife? The third man turned to the first two and said: " well, I'll tell you ...just the other day , I had her on her knees." The first two men were dumbfounded! " Wow! " What happened next? " They asked. The third man took a big swig of beer, sighed and muttered : " Then she started screaming " Come out from under the bed , and fight like a man!"
