Lesson eight - First Conditional/ Idiomatic expressions
Elias = How come the front door is opened? Didn't you close it before we went to bed ?
Bruna = I'm sure I did daddy . I can't understand it. Frankly, I smell a rat.
Danielle = Me, too. I'm convinced that something is definitely wrong here. We'd better call the police.
**** When somebody smells a rat actually he knows that something it's wrong. For instance, Danielle is supposed to be home around 11pm after the college but it's almost midnight and she didn't make a call yet. Danielle likes things working like clockwork. It smells a rat! Something is definitely wrong.

*** Who told you that? This is the question when you know that your secret was discovered. There are many ways for you getting an information. You can get it by reading the newspaper or listening to the radio, or talking to a friend ...and on. But when you know it straight from the source ...your source is totally reliable ...just because you got it straight from the horse's mouth
